It was reported to our office today, as well as Winslow Police Department, that an elderly couple in an older model white van approached one of our students last week on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, asking the student if he wanted a ride. The schools and the police department took an active role to investigate this matter. Please rest assured that we are taking the necessary precautions to keep our school district community safe. We will be speaking with all of our students about the importance of being cautious when being approached by strangers. Please talk to your child about the importance of never leaving with strangers, even if the stranger offers candy or other enticing items.
As always, we are requesting that all visitors check in at the school office to obtain a Visitor’s pass. We do not allow adults on the playground without a Visitor’s Pass.
The safety of your child is the number one priority to the staff at Washington School. If you see anything suspicious around the schools, report it immediately to the office and to the Winslow Police Department.
